Over the last 40 years in the steel business, David Hornsby has had the pleasure of working on many different jobs across many different industries. Today, he prides himself on leading a company that specializes in unique and effective rolling and bending practices – the same practices that have continued to set Hornsby Steel apart as leaders in the steel industry.
When David isn’t working across the southeast on client projects, he enjoys being involved in his community church, hunting, fishing, horseback riding and traveling with his family.

Even though he never pictured himself in the steel industry, Matt Peterson started working with Hornsby Steel right out of college and fell in love with the trade. 10 years later, and he’s still learning from the frontrunners in the business and continues to look forward to new projects and experiences.
Matt is very involved with his local church and loves to play golf and travel with his family.
Steve Ellis, Outside Sales Manager of Hornsby Steel
Steve Ellis began his career in steel in 1970, and had the pleasure of working with some of the most influential and brightest people that the steel industry has to offer. He has observed countless ways that metal can be used and has experienced the service side as well as the managerial side of the steel industry.
Steve is an active member of Highlands United Methodist Church, and enjoys bird-watching, watching sports and spending time with this family.
Jason Owen, Purchasing & Drafting Director for Hornsby Steel
After a career in food service and retail, Jason Owen joined the Hornsby team and brought his expertise in customer satisfaction with him. He has since taken over purchasing, drafting and programming for the team, which allows him to combine his family background of iron working with his creativity and degree in design.
Jason is an active member in his church and loves to cook, fish and play pool. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his animals.
